Stage Karaoke Setup & Operations Guide (Singa Business Pro)

Turn your venue into a professional karaoke stage powered by Singa Business Pro. This guide walks you through installation and daily operations, whether running a hosted karaoke night or a fully automated stage karaoke experience.

Singa Business Pro gives you the flexibility to run karaoke in two modes:

  • Hosted Karaoke Mode - A karaoke host (KJ/DJ) manages queues, interacts with guests, and drives engagement.
  • Automated Stage Karaoke Mode - The system operates automatically, allowing guests to queue songs via Discovery Stations or the Singa consumer app.

Both modes share the same technical backbone, but differ operationally in how guests interact, how queues are managed, and how staff oversee the flow.

Hardware Setup Summary

Follow the recommended setup for stability and sound quality:

  • iPad (Singa Business Pro) - primary control device
  • HDMI connection - to display lyrics and video
  • RCA/XLR output - to connect iPad audio to mixer or amplifier
  • Mixer/Amplifier - to balance music and microphones
  • Stage and audience screens - for lyrics and engagement
  • Microphones - wired or wireless, depending on use case
  • Speakers - stage and audience coverage

For reliable playback, prefer wired HDMI and RCA connections. Wireless AirPlay + Apple TV setups are ideal for flexible or mobile stages but may add latency.

Hosted Karaoke Operations (with a host)

Host Role & Flow

A karaoke host is the heart of the night. Their main tasks:

  • Manage the queue and ensure smooth singer rotation.
  • Announce performers, control energy between songs.
  • Use Singa Business Pro’s queue management to reorder, skip, or pause songs.
  • Monitor sound levels from the mixer (adjust mic gain & reverb).
Tip:

Use “Return to main view” so the app returns to the main view after each song. Enable “Require singer’s name” so singers are announced clearly.

Background Music & Transitions

Between performances:

  • Enable Background Music to play music between the songs.
  • Keep energy flowing: background music prevents any awkward silences at your venue.
  • Enable Singa’s ad feature to display happy hour offers or upcoming events between singers, or if you plan to have a break during your karaoke night, tap "Show Ads"
  • Create your own Playlists and pin them before your karaoke night to help you save time and stay organized.
Stage & Audience Setup
  • Stage screen: Directly visible to the singer (lyrics display).
  • Audience screen: Visible to guests to encourage sing-alongs.
  • Singa Discovery stations: Placed near the bar and tables for song browsing.

Automated Karaoke Operations (run by staff)

Automated mode allows the venue to run karaoke even without a dedicated host, making it perfect for weekdays or late-night crowd entertainment.

Key Settings

In the Kiosk Mode, enable:

  • Auto-play next song = ON
  • Return to dashboard = OFF
  • Require singer name = OFF
  • Auto accept song requests = ON

Guests use either:

  • Singa Discovery Stations (iPads)
  • Singa Mobile App → venues → connect to venue and send requests remotely.

Staff only need to:

  • Check that the queue flows smoothly.
  • Adjust volume between karaoke and background playlists.
  • Restart Singa Pro occasionally to refresh performance.
  • Update the Singa Pro app and the iPadOS minimum monthly
