How to use another background music provider?

If you don't want to use Singa Radio, here's an alternative to running another background music provider.

Running karaoke and your background music provider on the same mixer involves setting up your audio equipment so that both sources can be mixed together.

Here’s a step-by-step guide to help you get started:

What you need:
  1. Mixer with multiple inputs (e.g., microphones, line inputs).
  2. Microphone(s) for karaoke.
  3. Computer/Tablet/Phone to run the background music
  4. Singa Pro for playing karaoke tracks.
  5. Cables (XLR, 1/4" jack, RCA, or 3.5mm, depending on your mixer and devices).
  6. Speakers (connected to the mixer's output).

First:

1. Connect the Microphone(s):
  • Plug your microphone(s) into the mixer’s microphone inputs using XLR cables.
  • Adjust the gain/volume on the mixer for each microphone to appropriate levels.

2. Connect Singa Pro:

  • Connect the output of the Singa Pro to one of the line inputs on the mixer.
  • Depending on your mixer, use the suitable cables (RCA to 1/4" jack or RCA to RCA).

3. Connect the background music provider:
  • If you’re using a computer, tablet, or phone, connect its audio output to another line input on the mixer.
  • Depending on the mixer's inputs, this might require a 3.5mm to 1/4" TRS cable or 3.5mm to dual RCA cable.

4. Set Up the Mixer:
  • Adjust the levels for each input (microphones, Singa Pro, and background music provider) to ensure they are balanced.
  • Use EQ controls on the mixer to fine-tune the sound if needed.
  • Ensure that each input is assigned to the main output.

5. Connect the Mixer to the Speakers:
  • Connect the mixer's main output to your speakers using suitable cables (XLR, 1/4" jack, or RCA).
  • Power on the speakers and adjust their volume.

6. Testing and Balancing:
  • Play a karaoke track and a song from your background music provider simultaneously to test the setup.
  • Adjust the mixer’s faders and gain knobs to balance the audio levels of the microphone(s), Singa Pro, and your music provider.

By following these steps, you should be able to mix karaoke tracks and background music providers smoothly, allowing for a seamless karaoke experience.
