Installation Guide when using Apple HDMI Adapters

Here are instructions on how we recommend you connect Singa Pro with an Apple HDMI adapter.

AppleHDMIAdapter

Requirements:

  • An Apple iPad and the Singa Pro Karaoke app. See the full Hardware requirements for supported iPad models.
  • Apple HDMI Adapter.
    • Which adapter for which iPad? If you have a supported iPad already, check its charging port.
      • Lightning takes the Apple Lightning Digital AV Adapter, and audio runs from the headphone jack.
      • USB-C takes the Apple USB-C Digital AV Multiport Adapter, plus an HDMI audio extractor for audio.
    • If there isn't an existing iPad for this project, we strongly recommend an iPad with the newer USB-C port for stability and longer support.
  • HDMI cables. Keep runs under 10 metres. For longer distances, use active HDMI fibre cables or HDMI over CAT6 extenders.*
  • Screen(s)
  • Speakers
  • Mixer or/and amplifier: multiple options - from simple 4-channel analog mixers to digital mixer options.
  • Two or more wired or wireless microphones
    • Wired benefit: less risk for a positive feedback loop
    • Wireless benefit: a better experience for the singers
  • Various cables (like RCA and HDMI cables)

*Please note! An HDMI cable's length can affect the transmitted signal's quality. Signal losses can occur with distances over 10 meters/35 ft, which can cause image or sound quality degradation. HDMI repeaters and extenders can strengthen the HDMI signal for longer distances. For professional longer-distance installations, we recommend you contact your local professional AV company and use, for example, active HDMI fiber or CAT cables.
